Did you ask the agent?
Every now and then, a teammate DMs you something like,
Hey, how do I center a div in CSS?
Just ask the agent. It can probably just do it.
When you DM a teammate something like this, you’re asking them to stop what they’re doing, context-switch into your problem, and type out an answer. That’s a lot for something the agent could just handle.
Before you message a teammate, try the agent first. Paste your error. Describe what you’re trying to do. It’ll probably just solve it.
If the agent can’t help, then ask a person. Some things need a human:
- Architecture decisions and trade-offs
- Team conventions and unwritten norms
- Anything that requires context the agent doesn’t have
Now your question has context, and whoever helps you can skip straight to the interesting part.
Next time, before you DM a teammate, ask yourself: did I ask the agent?
